Mark Lanegan, formerly of Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age among others, is releasing a best-of collection from his twenty plus year solo career.
The grunge legend has been all over the radar this year, collaborating with the likes of Moby and Duke Garwood, and releasing cover album, Imitations, where he tackles songs by The Twilight Singers and John Cale, not to mention his completely separate tributes to The xx, Tim Hardin, and Nico. Busy, busy.
To throw some icing on Lanegan’s crazy 2013 cake, he’s announced the upcoming release of a best-of/rarities compilation titled Has God Seen My Shadow? An Anthology 1989-2011. It is a 2 disc, 32 track set, the first disc featuring solo material from 1990 onward, and the second disc featuring unreleased tracks from his time on the Sub Pop and Beggars Banquet labels. It will be available as a double CD or triple LP package, both of which include a booklet of handwritten lyrics and rare personal photos.
Has God Seen My Shadow? is out January 13th of next year via Light In The Attic. Until then, be sure to catch Lanegan on his Fall tour which is currently underway.
