Watch: Arctic Monkeys Pay Tribute to Lou Reed With Cover of “Walk on the Wild Side”

Arctic Monkeys covered “Walk on the Wild Side” as a tribute to the late rock legend Lou Reed.

The English indie rockers performed the cover at their show Monday in Liverpool to honor the founder of The Velvet Underground, who died at the age of 71 on Sunday. They aren’t the first to pay tribute to Reed, as Consequence of Sound reports, but that makes the act no less meaningful.

Arctic Monkeys were on North American tour this fall for their latest album AM. Singles they have released for individual streams include “2013,” “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?,” “Stop the World I Wanna Get Off With You” and “Arabella.” They also allowed the entire album to stream on iTunes at the beginning of September, week before its release. They have also released two music videos in the past few months – one for the track “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” and the other most recently for “One for the Road.”
