The forthcoming sixth studio album for Against Me!, set for release in January 2014, will be their first since frontman Tom Gabel announced he was transitioning to become the woman Laura Jane Grace in 2012. Transgender Dysphoria Blues will likely mark a victory for Grace, as this was an album she’s been working on for many years prior to her transition.
Via Against Me!’s own label, Total Treble, Transgender Dysphoria Blues will be released January 21st, and it features Grace, guitarist James Bowman, new drummer Atom Willard and NOFX bassist Fat Mike, who fills in on songs “FUCKMYLIFE666” and “Unconditional Love”. The former of these tracks was leaked earlier this summer with the release of single “True Trans”, which also included new track “True Trans Soul Rebel”, from the new album.
