Watch: Trailer Released For New Lamb of God Documentary As the Palaces Burn

Lamb of God lead vocalist Randy Blythe recently went through a manslaughter trial, and the band has shared the trailer for a documentary film about the trial. The film is expected to debut next month at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam.

The film shares a title with the Lamb of God’s soon-to-be-reissued third album, As the Palaces Burn, and was originally planned to be documentation of the international success and multicultural fanbase of the metal band. Spin points out that director Dan Argott switched the focus mid-filming, when the death of 19-year-old fan Daniel Nosek, who sustained head injuries while attending a 2010 Lamb of God show in Prague, became the biggest subject surrounding Lamb of God.

Blythe was found not guilty and acquitted of the manslaughter charges brought against him in the Czech Republic, but the financial toll on the band, due largely to legal fees, cannot be ignored. In addition to the new documentary, Blythe also created his own short film about the experience, and is writing personal memoir which is due out in spring 2014. The feature film will be released theatrically and for home viewing next year as well.
