“For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.” San Francisco’s Sleepy Sun put that God-logic in their pipes and smoked themselves into a warbling psych-rock dream in “11:32“.
Director Brandon Moore’s short opens to a pair of wasted, gun-toting ladies, Tarantino style. It’s a suitable match-up: as their night of debauchery spins out of control, the music ebbs and flows to the drama, drowning in liquor-drunk reverb and power bass riffs. While unrestrained use of drugs and alcohol has certain negative consequences (passing out alone on the beach, for one), Sleepy Sun’s music is certified hangover free and safe for consumption in large quantities.
