Singer/songwriter Brendan Benson will release his latest album, You Were Right, on November 29. He recorded the album at his own Nashville-based Readymade Studios.
Some of You Were Right‘s 15 tracks were premiered over the past year as part of Benson’s monthly single series on his website. An accomplished songwriter and producer, Benson has worked with Willy Mason, Loretta Lynn, the White Stripes, Adele, Jake Bugg and more. He is also a member of The Raconteurs.
He plans to celebrate the record’s release with a Brendan Benson & Friends show at Ryman Auditorium on December 18. Guest performers and collaborators at the event will include Jack White, Adriel Denae, Eric Burdon, Butch Walker, Jesse Baylin, Ken Stringfellow, Jon Auer, Cory Chisel, Willy Mason, The Howlin’ Brothers, Young Hines and more. A couple of those artists, Ken Stringfellow and Jack White, made mxdwn’s list of the top 40 albums of 2012 – Stringfellow with his album Danzig in the Moonlight, and White with his album Blunderbuss.
