The November release of Midlake’s new album Antiphon is quickly approaching, and they have just streamed their new song “Provider” via NPR Radio. The song will be featured on their new album due out November 5th. Listen below.
Midlake is a music critics dream, with their progressive-rock genius and innovative production, so it’s no wonder that their latest releases are so widely received. Their fourth studio album, Anthiphon, is due out November 5th via ATO Records. Their new track “Provider” premiered on NPR’s “All Things Considered” music radio program, and the song has undeniably added to the allure of their new album. The track and album are really the effects of genius collaboration with members Eric Pulido, Paul Alexander, McKenzie Smith, Eric Nichelson, newest member Jesse Chandler, and Joey McClellan. You can hear the epic “mixology” of instrumentation including the bassoon, autoharp, flute, classic keyboard, guitar and drums in the upcoming album. The new track is reminiscent of the 70’s psychedelic rock era, but definitely offers a modern and emotional adaptation for the lyrics and instrumentation in the track.
“Provider was the first song to take shape on the new album. It’s where our ideas and growing pains were first flushed-out in forming a communal sound and vision.
