Psychedelic folk rocker Josh Tillman has released a music video for “I’m Writing A Novel,” the fifth video from his debut album Fear Fun under the moniker Father John Misty.
The former Fleet Fox drummer seems to be drawing Fear Fun out for as long as possible- it is, admittedly, a fantastic album. Taking the stage name Father John Misty, he dropped the debut LP back in May of 2012. Well, nearly a year and a half later, he’s still putting out videos and touring on that same record. Hey, no one here is complaining.
Directed by Noel Paul, the creative mind behind the video for “Hollywood Forever Cemetary Sings,” the visual accompaniment to the musical mushroom trip “I’m Writing A Novel” premiered today on Pitchfork. The collage of tour footage and general shenanigans gives fans a brief, but intimate glimpse into Tillman’s life on the road.
Fans have a few opportunities at the moment to witness the circus in the flesh. Father John Misty is in the last month of his solo Fall tour, which ends early November in his current home of Los Angeles. Bay Area residents (and visitors too!) can catch his set at San Francisco’s FREE Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival the first weekend of October, and if all else fails, scoop up his limited edition perfume so you can at least smell the action.
