Australia’s Cut Copy will be dropping their fourth album, Free Your Mind, on November 5 on Loma Vista/Modular.
The album was recorded in Melbourne, Australia, and frontman Dan Whitford produced it. Dave Fridmann, who has worked with Tame Impala and MGMT, mixed the LP in upstate New York.
The band was inspired by youth revolutions at tough times in history, and Whitford said, “the concept of freedom is one that’s universally positive and timeless,” which is an idea reflected in the album title and title track. Cut Copy last revealed their belief in freedom when choosing to stream “Let Me Show You” for the public, a track that was originally available only to attendees of Pitchfork Music Festival.
