Clues from Arcade Fire that pointed at September 9th have now proven themselves to be the release date of their next single, “Reflektor”, a fresh track off their new album of the same name, due out in October.
This is fantastic news for the indie world, especially now that they’ve been teased with a trailer for the new album, and learned Spike Jonze had chosen Arcade Fire to score his latest film, Her.
It’s also been revealed filmmaker Anton Corbijn, known for his part in certain Joy Division, Depeche Mode and Nirvana video masterpieces, directed the video for the new single. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Corbijn said he’d been working on “Reflektor” and that everyone could see it next week:
I can’t say much more than that, because it’s all a surprise. You’ll have to watch the TV Monday evening.
