Third Man Records Announce The Dead Weather Are Working On New Music

A recent tweet from Third Man Records, the label founded by Jack White in 2001, reveals The Dead Weather is, indeed, working on new music.

Earlier this year, in an interview with Rolling Stone, White mentioned all the members of The Dead Weather were living in Nashville, and that they had recorded some music together. Said White:

Our things pick their place for us. We don’t really sit down and pick them. They pick our place for us. Like, the Kills make a record or Queens of the Stone Age makes a record, I make a record, and it all falls into place, you know? Like, we didn’t know we were going to do two Dead Weather records in a row. We didn’t have any plan at all. We were just going to record a seven-inch, and it keeps going, and we make two albums’ worth of material. We try not to tell it what to do. We let it tell us what to do.

Today’s tweet sounds like the band is now officially working on new material, however, making it their first since 2010’s Sea of Cowards.

White’s also kept busy on his own in that off time, focusing on his solo career, jamming with such greats as Willie Nelson, and performing in events like the Llewyn Davis Benefit Concert, put together by directors Joel and Ethan Coen.

In other news, White’s battles with ex-wife Karen Elson have also been made public recently, after emails between the two were leaked.
