The October 15 release of Uncanny Valley is the gong-clash to an unforeseen twelfth-year ritorno. The Dismemberment Plan’s new string-sopped single “Invisible” takes an introspective snapshot of new-town anxiety and social detachment.
It’s quite a contrast to the relationship move-on drama of its wacky sister single “Waiting.” Together, the two glimpse an album which confronts the frenzy of life reaffirmed. After so many years of disparate projects, DP’s 2010 reunion run found the grown-up band mates with ears perked and questions raised. Eventually, out of that collaborative magic emerged Uncanny Valley, a sort of agreeable oops-baby addition to their now five-part portfolio, and which is being touted as their best record to date.
Beginning this September, you can catch Dismemberment Plan on tour, and in the meantime, listen to their new single below!
