Fiesta Records recently welcomed Portland’s The Parson Red Heads to their roster, and they have quickly finished recording their third EP, Orb Weaver, which will be out on October 13.
Unlike their long labour of love in 2011, the LP Yearling, this time around the band took a shorter amount of time in the studio and have crafted an album less meticulous and more spontaneous. They wanted their live performance style, which is known to be more chaotic, energetic, and unrehearsed, to shine through on this EP.
Allegedly, the band also had a strong vision for what they wanted on Orb Weaver, and this is evident in the final product, which is brimming with their signature twist on Americana and homages to their influences, including Fleetwood Mac and The Byrds. Producer Scott McCaughey offered incredible insight all the while.
The Parson Red Heads began in Portland but spent six highly influential years in the coveted Silver Lake music scene centred in Los Angeles.
