Akron/Family have released a new video for “Sand Talk” – the single from their latest album, Sub Verses.
Since arriving on the music scene with their 2003 self-released CDR Eskimo, Akron/Family have released a handful of EPs and 6 full length albums – including their 2013 record, Sub Verses. In preparation for the album’s upcoming release, Akron/Family are debuting a brand new video for “Sand Talk” – directed by Los Angeles conceptual artist Ali Beletic.
The video serves as a kind of collage of the group’s time together – starting off with a collection of archival footage from the band’s decade-long history, and then moving to footage of the current band members leading a gathering of fans down a winding highway in the dark with headlights pulsing to the beat of the song. The song’s up-beat tempo coupled with juxtapositions of then vs. now within Ali Beletic’s cinematography, spur a kind of energetic, joyful nostalgia.
