LISTEN: Pelican Release Stream of New Song “Deny The Absolute”

Pelican, an instrumental metal quartet out of Chicago, have released a new song on Soundcloud – “Denny The Absolute”.

Since first arriving on the scene with their self-titled EP in 2001, post-metal group Pelican has boasted a devoted, engaged fanbase that is not afraid to challenge the band’s artistic choices. Perhaps it is strange for one’s most receptive audience to also be one’s harshest critic, but the relationship – thus far – seems to be working out well for all involved.

Although Pelican’s newly released alternate version of “Deny The Absolute”, a song that appears on the band’s latest album, Forever Becoming (out October 15 via Southern Lord), has been received in a traditionally critical manner; there is no doubt that the song exhibits qualities of some of Pelican’s best work.
