LISTEN: GWAR Release Stream of New Song “Bloodbath”

There’s never any rest for the wicked, especially if the wicked in question is GWAR. As the heavy metal band’s 4th Annual GWAR-B-Q gets underway this weekend, the group has also chosen to leak another track from their forthcoming album Battle Maximus.

Due out in September, Battle Maximus looks to be yet another glorious GWAR creation, especially now that we’ve heard “Madness at the Core of Time”, and now “Bloodbath”, which you can stream below.

Here’s what vocalist Oderus Urungus has to say about the new track:

Bloodbath is a catchy little ditty straight from Scumdog City, with a sound reminiscent of past GWAR thrash-ter-pieces like Jack the World or Happy Death Day, yet completely different. It also features a ripping lead from new Scumdog Pustulus Maximus that is sure to melt your eardrums…lyrically it is a rumination on the inevitability of death for you mortals, and how you should not fear this…for death at the hands of GWAR is the most liberating experience you can ever have, especially in our Meat Grinder!

Take a listen for yourself:

As the world impatiently awaits the album’s arrival, fans can catch GWAR on the major tour they embarked upon last week, with the likes of Hatebreed and Iron Reagan. The truly lucky ones will get to experience the GWAR-B-Q, spectacle of music madness that takes place this Saturday in Richmond, Virg and features the exciting reunion of former GWAR side project The X-Cops. The festival chaos will truly be complete once the new GWAR beer is served to the masses.
