Fresh off The Avett Brothers release of The Carpenter last fall, and a noteworthy performance at the Newport Folk Festival in June, comes the announcement their next album, Magpie and the Dandelion, will be on shelves October 15th.
In a recent letter to fans, The Avett Brothers write that working with Rick Rubin on The Carpenter helped inspire them to put together a second album:
We’ve got to let you in on a little secret because you’ve been so good to us. While we were working on The Carpenter, we were so inspired that we wrote another record as well. During those sessions, we just felt it. Working with Rick Rubin again, we tapped into something very special. It’s like everybody was in the same zone.
The North Carolina four-piece performed “Morning Song”, potential track from the upcoming LP while at the Newport festival, and have now released the official album single “Another Is Waiting”, via NPR.
The Avett Brothers begin touring September 8th in Montreal, and will continue their run of shows past the new album release date.
