Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers to Replace D’Angelo at Outside Lands

Fans of D’Angelo, we have some bad news for you. A medical emergency has forced the neo-soul savant out of the 2013 Outside Lands Festival lineup. However, the folks at Outside Lands managed to find a ringer. Perennial Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees Chic feat. Nile Rodgers have been locked up as replacements.

For those of you who think you don’t know Chic, think again. The band’s been since the 1970s, and we guarantee that you’ve heard at least one of their songs (ring bell?). Known for their rollicking, infectious disco style, Chic has had their music appear on the top of the US charts, the Rush Limbaugh show, and everywhere in between. Founding member Nile Rodgers has kept a low profile recently, collaborating with a little known French house band to produce a minor hit. Daft Punk? “Get Lucky”? Yeah, never heard of ’em before.

D’Angelo may be out, but Chic and Nile Rodgers are in, and Outside Lands looks incredible. Take a look at the lineup, be sure to scrape your jaw off the floor when you’re done.
