Death Grips Cancel Tour Dates, Band and Management Are Reported as “MIA”

After bailing on Lollapalooza, concert promoters have announced that Death Grips has canceled several more upcoming shows.

California-based hip hop group Death Grips caused a lot of confusion when they failed to show up for their set at Lollapalooza, and they just keep adding to it, having canceled several more tour dates, including show in Boston on August 6th and New York on August 7th. Also canceled is their next big show at Baltimore’s Ottobar on August 9th. As SPIN Magazine points out, after the band missed their set at Lollapalooza, “It was all somewhat mysterious, with what looked to be a fan’s suiciden note hanging behind their equipment, which was destroyed by angry concnertgoers.” [sic]

Oddly, a Death Grips rep reported to the Chicago tribune on August 3rd that “management and band still MIA.” Giving some hope to the band’s return is the fact that there are several dates that haven’t been canceled, including recent Facebook post about playing the FYF Fest in Los Angeles on August 24th.
