Frontman and songwriter for The Decemberists, Colin Meloy, is about to launch his first solo tour in five years. Take a peak inside for upcoming dates and locations.
Scheduled to kick off the tour on November 1st at Town Hall in New York City, The Decemberists’ lead singer and songwriter will be playing in 10 cities in almost as many days. According to Meloy, the tour will feature new material as well as songs from throughout his career. A ticket pre-sale will begin on Wednesday, July 31st, at 10:00 AM local time; and tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning this Friday, August 2nd.
The fall tour marks a return to music for Meloy, and, keeping with tradition, the songwriter is recording a Colin Meloy Sings… EP of cover songs to be sold on the tour. The three earlier installments of the Colin Meloy Sings… series have paid homage to such artists as Morrissey, Shirley Collins and Sam Cooke.
