Beta Band Announce Career Spanning Box Set To Be Released October 2013

British cult group The Beta Band are due to release a big-box. The Regal Years spans the band’s seven year career (from 1997 to 2004) and contains their first three EPs, and their three subsequent studio albums – in short pretty much everything and more besides. Innovators in every sense of the word, the Beta Band have been perennial critical darlings. Their unusual fusion of musical traditions led to the label of “folktronica”, as one particularly astute youtuber put it, “it’s even more beck than even beck”. Beta Band songs have a tendency to be long, dreamy, and utterly mesmerizing – music to get lost in, check it out if you haven’t heard them before.

Apart from the group’s six released albums, The Regal Years also includes radio sessions, sleeve notes by Beta Band bassist Richard Greentree, demo recordings, and some live tracks. The album is due to be released October 7 through Parlophone. Fans may get a little preemptively teary – in a good way, of course.
