Morrissey Cancels Entire South American Tour Due to “Lack of Funding”

Morrissey had already canceled a number of his tour dates in South America due to illness, but Pitchfork is now reporting that he has canceled all of his stops on the continent, citing “lack of funding.”

Pitchfork’s article included a note that Morrissey left for fans, explaining why the tour dates have been cancelled. In the past year alone he has had trouble making his tours work, due to various issues – he had to care for his sick mother for while in 2012, cancelling some dates and rescheduling others.

In February 2013, he insisted that the Staples Center go completely vegetarian for his concert and canceled an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show to stand for animal rights, protesting the appearance of the cast of “Duck Dynasty” on the show.

In March, Morrissey had to cancel even more appearances when he was hospitalized for double pneumonia, and just this month he had to postpone the aforementioned South American stops due to food poisoning.

In other words, Morrissey’s luck can only get better from here.
