IWRESTLEDABEARONCE is at it again. The cult-metal band is dangling another song off upcoming third album Late for Nothing. While it’s awfully hard to top track featuring guitar-god Steve Vai IWABO takes a run at it with “I’d Buy That For A Dollar”.
New vocalist Courtney Laplante (replacing Krysta Cameron) is in fine form on this muscular, three-minute long track. Similar in style (at first blush) to “Thunder Chunky”, “I’d Buy That For A Dollar” features growled verses alternating with Laplante’s soaring vocals.
Masters of the unexpected, IWABO continues to show listeners that anything is fair game. Their two previous albums, It’s All Happening (2009) and Ruining It For Everybody (2011) found the band mixing metal with, well, everything. Late For Nothing follows hard on that trend and, given the exciting addition of Laplante (not to mention a solo from Lord Vai), anticipation is sure to build for the upcoming album.
