Girl Talk, intriguingly, has mixed Kanye West’s recent track “Black Skinhead” and Marilyn Manson’s “The Beautiful People,” from 1996. He recently tweeted that he will be working this mix into upcoming sets.
Due to the similarities to be found in the two songs to begin with—completely unintentionally, despite initial rumours that West had sampled Manson’s older song—the mix works exceptionally well, like many of his other mixes, including a Daft Punk/Michael Jackson mashup he’s also playing a lot during live shows.
At a recent Girl Talk show in Charlotte, North Carolina, both mashups were received well.
“Black Skinhead” is from Kanye’s latest record, Yeezus. More information on the record, which received mixed reviews, can be found here.
