Against Me! has released a small portion of their upcoming Transgender Dysphoria Blues album in the form of an EP titled the True Trans EP. It’s available streaming and as a free download.
Fans have been waiting on the edges of their seats for new material from Against Me! since frontwoman Laura Jane Grace came out as transgender a little over a year ago. While their sound has clearly evolved, it hasn’t changed in the ways people may have anticipated. The two tracks on the EP, “FuckMyLife666” and “True Trans Rebel Soul,” sound more like the stripped down material from their early album Reinventing Axl Rose than anything they’ve put out in recent years.
In support of the upcoming LP, Grace is embarking on a short solo tour mid August with the self-explanitory title of Laura Jane Grace Sings The Transgender Dysphoria Blues. The album, a concept piece about a transgender prostitute, does not yet have an official release date, although recording has been completed.
