After an 11-year hiatus, Lesley Rankine has announced her long-awaited return to her electronic, trip hop music project, Ruby. Watch her newly released music video for “Last Life”, inside.
Originally formed in 1994, Ruby is the collaboration of then London-based Lesley Rankine and Seattle producer Mark Walk. Since their formation, the duo has released a handful of singles; two album; and on July 23rd of this year, a brand new EP, Revert to Type. The EP will be released on Rankine’s own Fireweed Records, and will feature three new songs – each of which with its own remix. To promote the new EP, the group released a preparatory video last April and very recently released their first video from the album. The song is called “Last Life”, and the video was directed by Ginger Pullman. This quirky video, featuring Rankine dancing within a golden picture frame with her sock puppet buddies, is hopefully a good indicator of things to come.
