Former Bikini Kill and Le Tigre frontwoman Kathleen Hanna is set to shake up the world once again with her newest project, The Julie Ruin. Now that they’ve got an album coming out this fall, and tour set to take shape alongside it, the band has done the punk world a favor with their newest video, “Oh Come On”.
Considered a founding member of the Riot Grrrl movement that flourished in the ’90s, Hanna has been honored for the role she’s played in breaking down barriers for females in punk rock. In 2010 she continued her journey by joining former Bikini Kill bandmate Kathi Wilcox and others to form The Julie Ruin, and they released their first song “Girls Like Us” in 2012.
Early this summer they announced their album Run Fast would be coming out this September, and that they would be featured at this November’s Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin.
