Indie-rock quartet Glasvegas have now brought William Shatner back to the limelight with the release of their latest video, “If”.
Taken off their upcoming album Later…When The TV Turns To Static, in stores September 3rd, “If” was turned into a video that would mimic the legendary BBC music program The Old Grey Whistle Test. It also features the iconic Shatner, who Glasvegas learned was a fan of their band when he introduced them on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Said frontman James Allan:
I then thought it would be a cool thing to incorporate his introduction of us into our new video since it also has a ‘late show’ theme. We got in touch with him to ask his permission and he got back to us almost immediately to give us the thumbs up!
“If” carries the nearly anthemic style the Scotland-based band is known well for, and there’s even a nod to the Talking Heads included in it, with a reference to the epic Heads track “Road To Nowhere”. Take a listen for yourself, below:
