Robby Krieger Confirms Reunion with John Densmore

According to Rolling Stone, the two surviving members of the Doors have confirmed that there will be a reunion and tribute show for previous Doors member Ray Manzarek.

After a messy battle concerning the rights to the Doors name and a multi-million dollar song licensing deal that John Densmore refused to sign, surviving Doors members Robby Krieger and John Densmore have finally put this battle behind them and agreed to do a tribute show for previous band member Ray Manzarek who passed away in May. Krieger told Rolling Stone about the upcoming reunion:

We’re going to do at least one show for Ray and have a big send-off, that’s either the start or the end of it, I don’t know.

This will be the first reunion since 2011’s studio reunion for the Skrillex track “Breakin’ A Sweat” though they did not appear at the same time together. That hasn’t happened since 1997 when the survivng band members reunited for a box set. Krieger also expressed interest in seeing the reissue of the two Doors albums immediately following Van Morrison’s death: 1971’s Other Voices and 1972’s Full Circle. According to Krieger, they are “kind of running low on stuff to put out at this point,” indicating that we may be nearing the end of extensive Doors re-releases and issues of previously unreleased material.
