IWRESTLEDABEARONCE Releases Stream of New Song “Carnage Asada” Featuring Steve Vai

Mambo meets metal meets, well, Steve Vai. The thrice-Grammy’d guitarist shreds his way onto the track “Carnage Asada,” off of IWABO’s (iwrestledabearonce) upcoming LP Late For Nothing.

Earlier this month, we announced that IWABO’s third album would be a serious change for the hardcore band revered for their erratic genre-mashing style. When founding member Krysta Cameron went on permanent maternity leave, her bandmates scoured the internet for a replacement, eventually stumbling upon Canadian singer Courtney LaPlante.

“I have no idea how we got so damn lucky,” said IWABO frontman Steve Bradley. “Courtney is just the perfect fit for us. We met for the first time when she arrived at Warped Tour, and we played a few hours later. It just clicked. Not only is her vocal style perfect for our material, but she’s a total weirdo like the rest of us.”

With LaPlante in tow, Late For Nothing marks a stylistic departure for extremophile Bradley, who in turn offered this consolation:

The weird twists and turns and the off-time heaviness haven’t gone anywhere, but those parts seem to serve the songs better now. Also, this album has a fucking solo by Steve Vai on it, so it’s automatically our best one to date.

‘Nuff said.
