After a year long transition to become a woman, Against Me! lead singer Laura Jane Grace has announced solo tour dates for Summer 2013. Grace will be performing acoustic renditions of the band’s upcoming album Transgender Dysphoria Blues. Shows are scheduled in the Northeastern US.

Over a year ago mxdwn first covered the announcement of Tom Gabel, now Laura Jane Grace, and her transition to become woman. With an outpouring of support from fans, musicians and her fellow Against Me! band members, Laura Jane Grace has evolved as person, artist and performer. After a tell-all interview with Cosmo, Grace told Rolling Stone of future plans for her new life in early May 2013. Around that very same time a live recording of Gabel performing the unreleased track “Transgender Dysohoria Blues” made its way across the virtual channels, creating excitement about new music projects. Laura Jane Grace followed up with the announcement of her Northeastern US tour dates in August 2013. Grace will perform acoustic renditions from the upcoming Aginst Me! album Transgender Dysphoria Blues. Every person who purchases a ticket to one of these shows will receive a free download link to two new Against Me! songs played acoustically from the album, titled True Trans.
Recently The Life of Agony frontman, Keith Mina Caputo also publicly opened up on her own journey from male-to-female on Twitter. The impact on fans and the transgender community from these two musicians is being felt in a big way, from the entertainment industry to everyday life.
