R.I.P. Alan Myers of Devo

Long time drummer for experimental new wave band Devo, Alan Myers, passed away this week after struggling with cancer.

After joining the band in 1976, Myers played on six of their albums before separating from the band in 1987. He was probably the band’s most popular drummer playing on renowned album Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! Myers remained active in the Los Angeles music scene after separating from the band by playing drums with Pop band Jean Paul Yamamoto. He was also the founding member of the band Skyline Electric which played monthly shows in art galleries and clubs in Los Angeles.
