For Solid Sound Festival’s third annual appearance, Wilco decided to go a non-traditional route, taking the focus off of their music and instead paying tribute to influential musicians from the past 50 years, including an entertaining version of recent Daft Punk single, “Get Lucky.” Amongst the 27-song set was seminal 70s punk band, Television’s “Marquee Moon.” Formed in 1973, Television was seen as highly influential during the punk era, although they never reached commercial success. Despite this, and despite the fact that they are sometimes considered alternative country, Wilco claims the punk band as one of their biggest inspirations, along with many other influential bands from the early 70s. Take a listen to Wilco’s performance of “Marquee Moon” below.
