Now that Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe has been acquitted of all charges after a lengthy trial, the band has to face the reality of hefty legal fees. Although Blythe is free to go, the price of the trial bankrupted the band, forcing them to start over financially.
After being kept in custody overseas in the Czech Republic for Manslaughter trial, frontman Randy Blythe has since been released, acquitted of all charges, and reunited with heavy metal band Lamb of God, but with serious financial consequences. With the band’s tour on hold, the trial cost more than the $500,000 charged in legal fees. As quoted by Spin, drummer Chris Adler stated that
“[the trial] bankrupted the entire band, no money left for any kind of payroll or anything,” Adler said. “When Randy was acquitted, everything was on the line at that point. Either it was completely over, or we had a chance to get back out there and pay these bills and get ourselves back on our feet…We said, ‘It’s all going to be over tomorrow, right? So we’ll be able to tour next week…That was our mindset. We were just waiting for the green light to get back out on the road.”
They decided to get back on their feet and are currently continuing their interrupted tour, but now have stricter safety rules in place to prevent anything like that from happening again.
