Sled Island Music and Arts Festival Cancelled Due To Severe Weather Conditions and Flooding

After releasing their lineup Sled Island Music and Arts Festival is disappointed to announce that the festival was cancelled. Sled Island’s main concern is the safety of everyone that intended to participate.

After hosting two successful days of performances, Sled Island Music and Arts Festival has been cancelled. Weather conditions in Calgary, Canada were severe. Some areas were flooded, causing authorities to take preventative measures, and enforce an emergency evacuation of over 100,000 people.

Due to the last minute evacuation, Sled Island officials do not have the proper resources to handle ticket and pass issues, but plan to address them as soon as said resources are available. Sled Island officials released a statement in which they ask for the patience of festival-goers, artists, musicians, and any partners affiliated.

“Our commitment to the safety of the citizens of Calgary remains paramount. Please take care of your friends and family who may require assistance and stay safe” said Sled Island officials in their statement. Their concern cannot be described, as they repeatedly stressed to be safe and attend to any family members that were affected.
