Zef’s most popular team have (finally!) released a new music video. The track is “Cookie Thumper” and it’s the first single from their upcoming album, due out early next year.
The political correctness of Die Antwoord’s music videos seems to diminish more and more with each one they put out. “Cookie Thumper,” if the message of the song had to be distilled, is about “…a little girl who had a crush on a bad, bad boy.” Yolandi plays, in no stretch of the imagination, the little girl, but that summary is a huge understatement.
Directed by Ninja, though he doesn’t make an appearance on the track, the video portrays a cute/naughty orphan with a thing for a freshly paroled gangster who has some interesting…ahem…preferences. There may be a hint at America screwing people over in the imagery somewhere, but everything else going on is pretty, to put it nicely, distracting. Just watch for yourself:
Die Antwoord’s new album is planned for a February 2014 release.
