England’s 65daysofstatic have announced an audio/visual installation that will appear at the UK’s Tramlines music festival in July. It will feature music from their upcoming album, set to be released in September.
The instrumental post-rockers, who have previously dipped their toes into contemporary dance and film soundtracks, are now experimenting with media installation. With multiple speakers and digital projection, their aim is to convey submersion, noise, and the collapse of everything. Inspired by Imagist poet Ezra Pound’s In A Station of the Metro, the installation titled Sleepwalk City is loosely based around the Imagist principles of directness, language economy and non-traditional art forms. It will also include music from their sixth full-length album, due out in September.
Sleepwalk City will be presented at the Millennium Gallery in 65dos’s hometown of Sheffield, England as part of the Tramlines music festival. Festival-goers will be able to experience it both weekend days (July 20th and 21st) of the event. The group will also be doing multiple live performances as part of their Summer/Fall European tour.
