When it comes to garage rock, there’s no one quite as legendary at Greg Cartwright, the former Oblivians and Compulsive Gamblers frontman who now leads Reigning Sound. The group recently signed to Merge Records and have been tracking their debut release for the label at the Daptone Records studios in Brooklyn. Chicagoans will have the chance to see Cartwright front the reunited Oblivians a West Fest just a few weeks before he returns to the city for a show at Beat Kitchen with his current band.
