Some sad news amongst all the joy over the Nine Inch Nails reunion – Adrian Belew has announced his departure from the band.
Ironically, Reznor stated that it was through working with Belew that he was inspired to reform Nine Inch Nails.
Belew released this statement on this facebook page,
hey folks, before this goes too far let me say this: I greatly respect trent and the music he makes. no one is at fault. we both agreed it just was not working. I’m sorry to disappoint anyone. that really hurts. but NIN will do an amazing show and I am back where I belong: creating FLUX.
Belew then deleted his post and simply stated,
concerning me being part of the 2013 Nine Inch Nails band: it didn’t work.
The news comes just after news of the upcoming NIN Summer tour as well. (No word on how this could possibly affect the new box set). Belew isn’t the only member to announce their departure. Eric Avery announced his departure last month. Robin Finck was announced as an addition last month as well.
