As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, arrested May 7 for attempting to hire a hit man to murder his estranged wife, has been released from jail after posting a bond of $2 million.

The Christian metalcore singer had been arrested after offering an undercover detective $1000 to murder his wife, Meggan, who he had separated from last summer. Rolling Stone reveals that in previous emails between the couple, the singer told his wife he no longer loved her, or believed in God.
The sting operation had then been arranged by police after Lambesis stated to a man at his gym that Meggan had made it difficult for him to see their three adopted children, and that he wanted her killed because of it.
Following the arrest, Lambesis plead not guilty to the charges and remained behind bars, causing his band to cancel the tour they’d planned to embark upon with Killswitch Engage at the end of May.
Lambesis’ lawyer Thomas Warwick proceeded to tell a judge his client’s steroid use had “devastatingly affected” his thought processes at the time he was arrested. The singer’s bond had also initially been $3 million, but it was then lowered at a bail review hearing on May 17. New conditions of the bail require Lambesis to surrender his passport, wear a GPS monitoring system, and stay out of contact with Meggan or their children.
