Canadian electronic musician Michael Silver, who goes by the moniker CFCF, was recently inspired by a documentary’s soundtrack, and the inexpressibility of daily objects that we see every day on the street.
He aimed to create dynamic, deeply expressive music influenced by our relationships with the mundane and the commonplace items that affect our daily life. The result is his EP, “Music for Objects,” which will be released on Paper Bag Records on July 9th, as a companion to his other recent EP, “Exercises.” The latter also focused on this theme, albeit with a darker approach. This time around, Silver hopes to create a sensation of positivity surrounding our forced connections to objects.
The first track has been released, entitled “Camera.” It can be streamed on Soundcloud. Listen below, and allow the ambience to speak for itself.
The Montreal Jazz Festival will also feature CFCF performing live.
