As part of the continuing series of The Smashing Pumpkins’ reissues the legendary alt-rock band is set to release four separate versions, all fully remastered, of their platinum-selling 1996 box set The Aeroplane Flies High on July 23.
The next reissue in the continuing series of reissues by EMI of The Smashing Pumpkins catalog, after last years’ reissue of Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness, (which we reviewed here) was originally a box set reissue of earlier singles by the band. A bit strange, but the catalog has been remastered and expanded from its original 33-track lineup to a staggering 104 tracks (90 audio and 14 audio-visual). The reissue will also feature a 46-page book with liner notes by David Wild and a track by track commentary by Billy Corgan.
