Nine Inch Nails have just announced the June 6th release of their latest song “Came Back Haunted.” The song will be featured on their still untitled upcoming album. This will be the first NIN new material released since 2008’s The Slip.
This has been a big year for Nine Inch Nails, with the release of the Self-Destruct Tour documentary in March, band line-up changes, and the announcement of a new album. For many fans the build up for NIN’s latest material began with the online release of the 1994-1996 Self-Destruct Tour, giving the world a chance to recall the epic and legendary shows that solidified Nine Inch Nails in rock history. With the announcement of bassist Eric Avery’s departure from the band in May, NIN visionary Trent Reznor brought on Robin Finck shortly after Avery’s announcement. With no confirmation of Finck replacing Avery on bass, the band line-up was shifting in a way that offered fans ‘versatile and strong’ players. Only recently has Reznor announced that the Nine Inch Nails upcoming album has been in the works for the past year, and has been completed. The album is still untitled and will be released with Columbia Records.
With the announcement of a finished album, Nine Inch Nails will be releasing their latest song “Came Back Haunted” on June 6th, 2013. The song will be aired on various radio stations at 11:30am PST/ 2:30pm EST this Thursday. This will be NIN’s first release since 2008’s The Slip. New material from the band has critics and fans excited and intrigued. “Came Back Haunted” will offer new and old fans the best of Nine Inch Nails. The latest song is not like Trent Reznor’s recent side-projects with a more experimental and dance-like sound. This track goes back to the band’s roots and catapults the song’s driving force to a new level, having a solid rhythm but not a dance mix. You can check out the new song by tuning into your radio stations on June 6th, and fans can also see NIN in concert at one of their worldwide Summer/Fall 2013 dates.
