Since the death of Deftones bassist Chi Cheng last April, there has been a lot of speculation as to the release of his last Deftones album, Eros, which had never been heard by the public. After Cheng’s 2008 car accident, the album was shelved and the Deftones later released another album, Diamond Eyes, in 2010.

Last week at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards ceremony red carpet in Los Angeles, Chino Moreno of the Deftones discussed the release of Eros. There have been whispers that the album contains more aggressive tracks which has elevated the anticipation for loyal fans. Moreno mentions in the red carpet interview that the time is more appropriate now to release Chi’s last album, since he has passed on.
