Lombardo recently announced that he would no longer be acting as drummer for the band’s upcoming tour. It sounds as if money played a large part in his dismissal from the band.

Gary Holt will continue to fill in for recently deceased guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Holt had been subbing in for Hanneman while he was recovering from Necrotising Faciitis and he will continue to fill that role.

No doubt that the band will prepare some sort of tribute to Hanneman at the shows – especially in light of the public tributes that have been taking place recently.

It sounds as if both parties are excited about Bostaph re-joining the band. As Bostaph explains,

I’m very excited to be rejoining Slayer. We spent a very intense ten years of our lives together, had a lot of fun, made a lot of great music, so for me, this feels like coming home.

Bostaph was drummer for the band from 1992 to 2001. He recorded four albums with the band and has also been a member of Forbidden, Exodus, Systematic and Testament.

The band will tour through most of Europe all Summer. Catch the band on tour with their new lineup if you can
