Washed Out Announces New Album Paracosm Set for August 2013 Release

American electronic musician, Washed Out, has announced the release date for his follow up album Paracosm. August 2013 the album will be available for purchase in North America, UK and Europe.

Ernest Greene, also known by his stage name Washed Out, will be releasing his follow up album Paracosm this August. After his critically-acclaimed debut album Within and Without in 2011, Greene’s latest musical project is an expansion of his previous work, bringing in over 50 different instruments to record. Translating the theme of Paracosm, a world completely imagined and unhinged, Washed Out has made the focus of this album to be the complete exploration of imagined worlds. Through the medium of music, Greene has used a heavy influence of mid-20th century keyboards, like the Mellotron. You would have heard the Mellotron keyboard being used famously in The Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields.”

The album will be available on CD, LP and digitally in the UK and Europe on August 12th via Weird Worlds. The North American album release will be August 13th via Sub Pop. The single off of Paracosm is “It All Feels Right.” Washed Out’s promotional video will give fans an idea of what to expect from the new album this August. There are currently upcoming Washed Out tour dates in the US this August and September in support of Paracosm.
