Iron & Wine at the Chicago Theatre, 9/27

Though Iron & Wine began as an outlet for Sam Beam’s understated bedroom recordings, these days the moniker encompasses the 12-piece band that helped him record his latest LP, Ghost on Ghost. Peppered with lush string and horn arrangements, the record breathes a new life into Beam’s pop-informed folk songs. If we’re lucky, he’ll bring some of his new bandmates to the Chicago Theatre in September, when he visits the city for the first time since his set at the Hideout Block Party last summer.
