Describing themselves as musicians who produce music in the “Thai Gaze” genre, HOTT MT are not exactly what one would call “conventional.” The group’s official Facebook page is very minimal, and describes the band simply as “Teenage Music Ninja Turtles.” The members of the band currently listed on Facebook are Ashi Dala, Spooky Tavi, Bad Bahd, Guitty Dryver, and Chairman Towel. It is unknown whether these are stage-names or not, but Chairman Towel certainly has us raising our eyebrows.
The quirky quintet’s official website is even more barren in terms of information about the band, and is currently displaying video entitled “Never Hate Again” featuring Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips. The most steady stream of communication seems to come from the HOTT MT Tumblr, which contains weekly updates plus information about the group’s upcoming show schedule. You can also get up-to-the-minute updates and stay in touch with the band via their official Twitter and Instagram feeds.
The Los Angeles based band has been gearing up for the release of their flagship album I Made This, set to be released tomorrow, May 21st on CD (rumored CONFIRMED 7″ purple vinyl!).
