Members of Delta Spirit had to expect that the crowd cavorting at the Playboy Mansion would be a bit unfocused for their set that night. After all, the Live at the Landmark concert series’ latest stop at Hugh Hefner’s legendary digs in Holmby Hills provided many distractions, whether it was the famed Grotto, mingling Playboy Bunnies or free food and Tennessee whiskey provided by the sponsor Jack Daniel’s.
But surprisingly, a sizable audience crowded the dance floor to enjoy the indie rock band’s hour-long performance. A tent was not the optimum live music venue, but the band put on a spirited show performing songs equally from their last three albums, Ode to Sunshine, History from Below and their latest, a self-titled album that was released last year.
Delta Spirit will be performing at various festivals throughout the summer. Be sure to check deltaspirit.net for dates.
