Riot Fest & Carnival 2013 Announces Lineup Featuring Violent Femmes, Motorhead, Rancid, and More

The initial lineup for Chicago’s 2013 Riot Fest & Carnival has been announced, and it’s got genre variety aplenty.

Held at Chicago’s Humboldt Park Sept. 13-15, Riot Fest features such varied established greats as Motörhead, Public Enemy and Guided By Voices, and also promises to bring in such newer beloved bands as Atmosphere, Sublime With Rome and Against Me! It’s an impressive 3-day lineup, and added to the many concerts will be a tilt-a-whirl, fire eaters, and carnival activities galore.

UPDATE (6/13): Riot Fest has just announced an impressive addition to their lineup, via the inclusion of The Replacements. This will mark a reunion for the punk group, and their first stage performance in 22 years.

UPDATE 2 (7/20): Even more awesome news from the Riot Fest camp, as the Pixies, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Suicidal Tendencies, Andrew W.K. and T.S.O.L have now been added to Chicago’s lineup. Sadly, bands Motörhead, Bad Brains and Attack Attack! have been forced to withdraw from the festival, due to unforeseen circumstances. This news comes after Motörhead announced they would be canceling all 2013 tour dates, following frontman Lemmy Kilmister’s recent health scare.
